Richard B. Cheney a distinguished public servant and businessman is the vice president of the United States. Cheney has been a prominent person in Washington for many years. George W. Bush was the fourth president which he was a part of. Bush named Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in 2000, owing to Cheney's intelligence and judgment. Dick Cheney, who served in the United States as the chief of staff and secretary under a president as well as during Congress was a stellar service to the nation. Republicans and Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney believes that his job as a member of his position in the Bush Administration is to serve as an honest and discreet advisor. Cheney declared his delight at accepting the Republican vice-presidential nomination. He stated that he is looking forward working alongside a president who will work together with people of differing political opinions and who share shared goals. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the father of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When he was 13 years old, he relocated with his family from Nebraska to Casper in the western part of Wyoming in Wyoming, where his father was the director of the local district of soil conservation to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
